For graduate admission, UC Berkeley requires a minimum TOEFL score of 570 on the paper-based test, 230 on the computer-based test (CBT), or 68/120 on the internet-based test (iBT). Your MOST RECENT score must meet this minimum. Applicants whose most recent score fails to meet the minimum will not be admitted because there are no exceptions to this minimum requirement. Accepted TOEFL Test scores must be dated after June 2012. Your scores should arrive no later than December 6, 2013 for PhD and February 3, 2014 for Masters of Engineering.

Although there is no official minimum verbal score for admission, students with verbal score less than 400 are admitted in exceptional cases if a students record is outstanding in all other aspects. Although there is no official minimum quantitative score for admission, no student with quantitative score less than 700 is admitted in the last few years. GRE Scores should arrive no later than December 6,2013 for PhD and February 3, 2014 for Masters of Engineering.
